2026 Official Fee Schedule of GUOZUN CATHAY ASSOCIATES Austria Office

In June 2023, GUOZUN CATHAY ASSOCIATES officially inaugurated its Austria office in the central business district of Vienna. As a strategic core pillar of the firm’s commitment to China-Europe economic and trade affairs and its expansion in the EU legal service market, the office brings together a professional team of dual-qualified lawyers licensed in both China and Europe, alongside EU regulatory compliance experts. Core team members possess years of in-depth expertise in Austrian commercial rules and the EU legal system, and deliver targeted support for the core needs of Chinese-funded enterprises, including European investment, cross-border commercial cooperation, compliance system development and cross-border dispute resolution, providing localised, professional and end-to-end closed-loop cross-border legal services.

This document sets out the official unified fee benchmark of GUOZUN Austria Office for 2026. All quoted prices exclude Austrian value-added tax (VAT) and statutory surcharges. Settlement is available in three currencies – Euro (EUR), Renminbi (CNY) and US Dollar (USD) – with full compliance and transparency throughout the engagement.

I. Authorised Fee Models of GUOZUN CATHAY ASSOCIATES Austria Office

Developed in strict compliance with the Austrian Lawyers Act, the practice rules of the Vienna Bar Association and EU cross-border legal service regulations, and tailored to the characteristics of cross-border services for Chinese-funded enterprises, five standardised compliant fee models are adopted, fully aligned with EU judicial supervision requirements and international commercial service standards:

A. Fixed Fee Model Applicable to basic legal affairs with standardised procedures and accurately quantifiable workload. The total fee is locked in upon signing of the engagement letter with no hidden charges, covering services such as corporate commercial registration, basic compliance filing and standard legal document processing.

B. Hourly Rate Model Applicable to major cross-border projects, complex dispute cases and customised compliance advisory services. Fees are charged based on lawyers’ chargeable working hours, with a detailed monthly time record statement provided for full verifiability and traceability.

C. Subject Matter Value Proportion Model Applicable to property-related legal services such as cross-border mergers and acquisitions, asset transactions and large-value commercial claims. Fees are charged on a tiered basis according to the value of the case subject matter, in line with prevailing industry standards for high-end commercial legal services in the EU.

D. Contingency Fee Model Within the framework of Austrian practice regulations, this model applies exclusively to debt collection, commercial recovery and tort claim cases. Fees are charged conditional on actual payment recovery or a successful case outcome, and the fee percentage strictly complies with local statutory upper limits.

E. Annual Legal Counsel Retainer Provides enterprises with year-round, cross-domain legal protection. A fixed annual service fee is charged, with an exclusive service team proficient in Chinese, English and German and 48-hour priority response, covering full-spectrum compliance management and risk prevention for daily business operations.

IV. Key Factors Affecting Legal Fees

A.Complexity of cross-border compliance: Fees for cases involving tri-jurisdictional legal application, cross-border evidence collection and multi-national party collaboration are increased in line with difficulty level.

B.Industry professional barriers: Fees for highly specialised fields such as GDPR data compliance, cross-border M&A and financial regulation are higher than those for basic legal services.

C.Case handling difficulty: Fees are dynamically adjusted for major litigation and arbitration, complex cross-border enforcement and dedicated regulatory response matters.

D.Service urgency: Expedited case initiation and holiday work are subject strictly to the expedited surcharge standard, with no room for negotiation.

E.Cooperation procurement model: Packaged annual legal counsel retainers reduce overall costs by 15%–25% compared with standalone services.

F.Service team configuration: Fees are adjusted accordingly for multi-expert joint case handling, headquarters cross-border collaboration and exclusive multilingual services.

G.Case performance risk: The contingency fee percentage is directly linked to the prospects of success, difficulty of recovery and service duration.

V. Additional Third-Party Fees to Be Budgeted

The following fees are separate from legal service fees and are reimbursed at actual cost in accordance with Austrian official standards or disbursements incurred. Our firm charges no agency markup for these items.

A.Government fees: Commercial registration fees, visa application fees, court fees, arbitration fees, IP official fees, etc.

B.Notarisation and authentication fees: Local Austrian notarisation, Hague Apostille and Sino-Austrian consular authentication fees, settled on an actual basis.

C.Professional translation fees: Multilingual translation of legal documents and simultaneous interpretation for court hearings, charged in accordance with Austrian industry standards.

D.Expert service fees: Forensic appraisal, industry consulting and third-party due diligence fees, settled based on actual disbursements.

E.Field travel expenses: Transportation, accommodation and fieldwork allowances for domestic and overseas case handling, settled against valid receipts.

F.Financial handling fees: Bank charges arising from cross-border transfers and currency exchange shall be borne by the entrusting party.

G.Other third-party fees: Fees for auditing, valuation, compliance testing and other service providers, settled based on actual disbursements.
