All services are provided within the scope of practice permitted by Slovak law.

I. Compliant Fee Models of GUOZUN CATHAY ASSOCIATES Slovakia Office

In line with Slovak statutory fee rules and the cross-border service conventions of Chinese enterprises, the firm has established five standardised fee models, which fully comply with EU judicial regulatory requirements and international commercial legal service practices:

A. Fixed Flat Fee Model

Applicable to basic legal services with standardised procedures and predictable workload. The total price is locked upon contract signing with no additional charges outside the scope of the agreement. It covers standardisable matters such as establishment of market entities, basic compliance filings, drafting of standardised legal documents, and basic visa agency services.

B. Hourly Rate Model

The dominant fee model in the Slovak legal service market, applicable to non-standardised matters such as major cross-border M&A projects, complex commercial dispute cases, and tailored EU compliance consulting. Fees are calculated based on the actual billable hours of lawyers, with detailed time statements issued monthly. The entire service process is verifiable and traceable.

C. Tiered Percentage Fee Based on Subject Matter Value

Applicable to property-related matters including cross-border asset transactions, large-scale commercial claims, and investment, financing and M&A. Fees are charged at tiered proportional rates based on the value of the subject matter, aligned with the prevailing practice of the EU’s high-end commercial legal service industry.

D. Contingency Fee Model

Within the Slovak legal framework, this model applies exclusively to debt collection, commercial recovery and tort claim cases. Fees are conditional on actual fund recovery or a successful outcome. Pursuant to local Slovak legal provisions, the maximum fee ratio shall not exceed 20% of the actual recovered amount.

E. Retainer-based Annual Legal Advisory Model

Provides comprehensive year-round legal support for enterprises operating in Slovakia. A fixed annual service fee is charged, with a dedicated multi-lingual service team assigned and a 48-hour priority response mechanism in place. Services cover routine compliance management, risk prevention and control, and basic legal consultation for daily enterprise operations.

Senior partners have practising rights across multiple EU jurisdictions and specialise in core areas such as cross-border investment, international commerce, and EU compliance regulation.
