Recently, under the guidance of the Beijing Chaoyang District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, hosted by the Overseas Chinese Federation of the Guozun Yingdi Center building, and organized by Guozun Cathay Associates, the First Global Forum on Connectivity, Cooperation and Development for Overseas Chinese Businesses, themed “Bridging the World Through Overseas Chinese Communities”, was grandly held at the Beijing HNA Marriott Hotel. The forum was held in response to the national strategy of promoting China’s manufacturing sector toward the middle and high end of the global value chain. Against the backdrop of the AI-driven era, the event focused on overseas Chinese connectivity, global expansion empowerment, and legal-intelligence support, aiming to build a high-end platform that integrates forward-looking insight, strategic initiatives, cross-sector collaboration, and ecosystem development. Bringing together leaders from government, business, and academia, diplomats stationed in China, overseas Chinese business representatives, and industry pioneers, the forum explored new pathways for cross-border cooperation driven by large AI models, with overseas Chinese communities as the bridge, technology as the engine, and the rule of law as the safeguard. The event was designed to meet China’s high-level needs for both “going global” and “bringing in,” while building an intelligent ecosystem for high-quality two-way opening-up.

In his opening remarks, Xie Shouhua, Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Government Office in Beijing, noted that China is building a new development pattern of dual circulation through high-level opening-up. He emphasized that closer cooperation between Beijing and Zhejiang represents a deep integration of national strategies and a concrete practice of overseas Chinese communities serving the country’s broader opening-up agenda. He called for using overseas Chinese communities as a bridge for cross-regional collaboration, connectivity as the channel for industrial linkage, and cooperation as the force for building a mutually beneficial development ecosystem, thereby helping Chinese enterprises upgrade from “product globalization” to “ecosystem globalization.”

In their remarks, Mr. Abdourahmane Diouf, First Counsellor of the Embassy of Senegal in China, and a representative of the Embassy of Zambia in China highly praised the forum’s role in building bridges for international cooperation. At the forum, Wang Linda, Standing Committee Member of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Chairwoman of Yihai Group, emphasized that “building friendships before doing business” is essential for overseas Chinese enterprises to establish themselves abroad and achieve sustainable development. She noted that political security is the fundamental prerequisite for overseas expansion, public welfare and people-to-people goodwill are strong bonds linking China and the world, compliance and mutual benefit are the foundation of sustainable operations, and coordinated overseas Chinese resources are key to opening new opportunities. Feng Yueping, Standing Committee Member of the Beijing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Vice Chairman of the Chaoyang District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Executive Chairman of the Beijing Service Platform for Global Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Connectivity, delivered a keynote speech structured around the themes of the questions of the times, strategies for breakthroughs, empowerment solutions, and long-term vision. In his speech, he explained how self-developed large AI models can reshape enterprise globalization and overseas Chinese connectivity systems. He proposed building a one-stop online and offline service ecosystem, integrating AI capabilities into the full life cycle of enterprise globalization, and using artificial intelligence to transform overseas Chinese business connectivity services. Together with representatives from the embassies of Senegal, Cyprus, Mauritius, Niger, Mozambique, and Zambia in China, Feng Yueping witnessed the inauguration ceremony for the first group of countries covered by the Enterprise Global Expansion Support Center.
